What day of the week will my child have soccer games?
This will be posted as soon as we know the days and times, check our website at www.slpsa.com for frequent updates. However a good rule is that for summer soccer games are always played during week nights, typically Mon/Tues/Wed/Thur. Fall soccer all games are played on Saturdays in the morning or early afternoon.
When does the summer season begin and end?
In-House practice starts in late May. The season starts in early June and runs through July.
What is the In-House league?
In-house is a non-competitive recreational league. It does not matter if your son or daughter has played soccer before. There will be many other kids, besides your own, who will be playing soccer for the first time. This is the league for them. SLPSA also offers a Traveling League for those players who desire a more competitive experience.
How often are In-House games and practices?
There will be one game a week and usually one practice a week. It is fine if you cannot make a practice or a game but you should let your coach know ahead of time. Practice times and locations should be determined by the coach with consultation of the parents of the soccer players.
What kind of uniform do the In-House players wear?
Each player receives socks, shorts and a jersey. The cost of the uniform is NOT included in the registration fee. The cost for the uniform is $20. In-House wears the same uniform year after year so your child can continue to wear it until it no longer fits.
Tell me about all the In-House leagues?
The U6 teams usually have from 6 to 8 players on a team and play 3 versus 3 on a small field. No scores are kept and the emphasis is on participation. There are no goalies at this level. This is a combined league with both girls and boys on the same team. Players are encouraged to pay attention, to do their best, and to have fun.
The U8 teams usually have from 8 to 10 players on a team and play 6 versus 6 including a goalie. There are both boys, and girl’s leagues. Fields are larger than the U6 field. No scores are kept and emphasis is on participation and fun. We have referees at this level who try to instruct the players while refereeing.
The U10 teams usually have from 12 to 15 players on a team and play 8 versus 8 including a goalie. There are both boys, and girl’s leagues. Fields are larger than the U8 field. No scores are kept and emphasis is on participation and fun. We have referees at this level who continue to instruct the players while refereeing. These leagues usually play against teams from

I have seen some teams practicing. Why hasn’t my team started to practice?
Practice frequencies and schedules should be determined by the coach, players, and parents. Some coaches are more organized than others and start their practices earlier. We encourage all coaches to start practices by June 1st.
What should I bring to practice?
All players should bring the following to practices: appropriate dress for the weather, soccer shoes, shin guards, a soccer ball, a water bottle, and a good attitude about practice. In general, U6 will use a size 3 ball. U8 and U10 will use a size 4 ball. You do not need to have the age appropriate size soccer ball for practices.
