St. Louis Park Soccer Assoc.(SLPSA) Traveling soccer leagues are generally the next step after participating in the SLPSA In-House League(not required) for players interested in further developing their skill and passion for the game of soccer.  Similar to the SLPSA In-House league, there are two seasons for the Traveling league, Fall and Summer seasons.  The Fall season is considered the first season of the year.  They are completely seperate seasons and registration is seperate for each season. 

The governing policies and guidelines for the Traveling league are largely controlled by the MN Youth Soccer Assoc.(MYSA- www.mnyouthsoccer.org ) including max. number of kids per team, season dates, game days/nights and age eligibility.  Traveling leagues teams are not co-ed.  MYSA uses the following birthyear guidelines to divide the players into appropriate age groups for safety and developmental purposes:

Traveling Leagues start at the U9 age level.  The SLPSA Team Selection Committee will consider allowing a player to 'play-up' an age level if it is the right situation for the player. 

In addition to dividing the players by age, players can also be seperated by skill level to experience a more/less competive environment as a team.

Teams are formed by the SLPSA Team Selection Committee largely based on the previous season's coach's evaluation and the number of player's registered.  While there are no tryouts for the Fall season, there may not be room for all players that register to play based on the number of players registering for a given gender/age group, prompt player registration is key.   Fall teams are generally limited to age groups U9 thru U14.

On-line registration for the Traveling-Fall leagues generally open in mid-June.  Please check the registration page for updates.

Summer leagues are the 'big' soccer season compared to the Fall season.  The season is longer(more games) and more players/teams are registered.  SLPSA will typically offer U9 thru U17 teams for the Summer season.

Due to the large number of players, teams are formed in part by a tryout process usually conducted during the previous season's month of August(i.e. Summer 2011 teams are formed, in part, by tryouts conducted in August 2010).  The tryout schedule is posted on-line usually during the month of July.  Final team formation is determined by the Team Selection Committee. 

Teams will typically be announced by the end of September.

Tournament Options
Many weekend tournaments available.  Generally, Coaches/Teams select/register for 1-2 weekend tournaments during the Summer season.

Summer Season Game Nights

On-line registration for the Summer Traveling season is typically available in mid-July.  On-line registration is strongly recommended prior to attending the tryouts.
